Education & Literacy

Jane Addams Hull House Association’s Education and Literacy programs serve children and families of all races and socioeconomic status around the city of Chicago. Our philosophy is to provide every child with quality early childhood experiences that support later school successes.  These experiences are literacy-rich and delivered in an educational, safe and supportive environment, such as in our community schools.

We encourage parents to play an active role in their children’s education, through offering parent education workshops and family support services.

Our team includes experienced child development professionals that provide oversight and direction to all of our child development programs.

Programs:
After School Programs - Provide educational experiences, as well as enrichment and recreational activities, to children during out of school hours.
Community Schools - Provide enrichment opportunities combining rigorous academics with a wide range of vital in-house services.
Early & Family Literacy - Provides family support services that stress literacy and parenting skill development, including ESL classes.
Infant & Toddler Programs - Assist teen parents with child care, enabling them to stay in school and become effective parents.
