Advocacy Groups
Jane Addams Hull House Association carries out our mission through the Center for Civil Society’s advocacy groups. Please email us for more information!
Women’s Policy Board
A group of 30 diverse women leaders from the metropolitan Chicago region comprise this policy board. Together, the group explores the impact of public policy in the lives of women and their families. These women help the Center for Civil Society develop advocacy strategies and use their influence as activists on behalf of the Hull House constituency. Housing policies are the first phase of their examination.
Young Men of Color Initiative
In December 2006, the Center for Civil Society was selected as 1 of 10 agencies in the nation to analyze policies that affect young men of color in the communities in which they live. We will develop an action plan to alter public policies that limit life paths for these young men.
The Center was selected by the Joint Center for Economic & Political Studies, a convening body of the Dellums Commission. The Commission examines the quality of life for young African American, Latino, Asian American and Native American males.
Real Estate Leadership Council (RELC)
Formed in July 2007, RELC is a professional network dedicated to bringing together the experience, capability, resources and influence of the entire real estate industry to strengthen neighborhoods and communities across Chicago and its surrounding suburbs.
RELC is a catalyst for responsible, community-based investment and partnering. RELC strives to bring attention to overlooked neighborhoods and populations, presenting opportunities for its members to inspire neighborhood stakeholders in the development process.
