Jane Addams Hull House Association presented Tom Motamed, Chairman and CEO, CNA Financial Corporation, with the Jane Addams Legacy Award at the Palmer House Hilton on Thursday, June 3, 2010. Over 300 industry leaders from across the country joined together in a special evening of recognition and celebration.

“My evolution as a Chicagoan takes an important step forward tonight,” said Motamed. “Being associated with the tradition of social service pioneered by Jane Addams is an honor. I truly believe we are not at home in a community until we give something back. As important, I believe we cannot do well in business without also doing good in the communities where we work and live. It’s really pretty simple. Whether it’s social services … or business … or making a home in a new city, the common thread are the relationships we build and the good we do for other people.”
