Classes & Workshops
Jane Addams Hull House Association offers a wide variety of classes and workshops to the public. Some examples of our reoccurring classes are below. Be sure to check out our calendar for more information!
Individual Business Counseling - free
Small business specialists are available for free 1-on-1 counseling sessions with people interested in starting a business, expanding an existing business, packaging a loan application, or writing a business plan.
Business Basics Seminar
This seminar targets individuals interested in self employment, through classes on identifying a business idea and ways to get a business off the ground.
In the North Center, the workshop is held on the second Wednesday of every other month from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
In the South Center, the workshop is held the second Tuesday of every other month from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Networking Events - free
Networking events are held in collaboration with other businesses and organizations in the community. These events encourage businesses to exchange ideas, make business contacts, and support one another. The Networking Events are typically held twice a year at each South and North side location.
Small Business Training
Our Entrepreneurship Training Program (ETP) is a 10-week course that meets for approximately 2.5 hours each week, on the same weeknight. The class assists prospective or current business owners in compiling a comprehensive business plan. The class is for entrepreneurs who need the organizational skills to guide business growth or get a business off the ground.
Small Business Workshops - free
Free workshops are taught by experts on a variety of specific business issues that include marketing, financing, legal structures, insurance, leasing space, sales, taxes, and record keeping.
